Who you are…

Our Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) plays a pivotal role in developing and executing human resource and business strategies necessary to support the objectives of our evolving organization. The CHRO provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team, shareholders and the board of directors/managers. As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, the Chief Human Resource Officer will collaboratively support strategic initiatives that help Desert Financial connect with, develop, and care for its employees. Working in collaboration with the others on the senior management team, the CHRO will drive organizational performance in full alignment with the strategic business goals, and the mission, vision and values of the organization.

As a Chief Human Resource Officer, a typical week might include the following…

Establish HR strategy that supports and communicates the credit union's mission, vision and values. Drive HR strategy, planning and execution integrated with, and supportive of overall business operations objectives.

Function as a strategic business advisor to executive and senior management on organizational and business goals.

Champion Human Resource operations through collaborative guidance of Human Resource management and individual contributors. Protect and promote the Talent Management and Total Rewards teams and support any and all functions that include but are not limited to: executive compensation, talent acquisition, career development, employee retention, training, leadership development, succession planning, and benefits.

Strengthen programs that help define and shape the culture of our organization while mapping back to our Mission, Vision, and Values. A solid culture elevates employee engagement, resulting in higher employee loyalty and retention.

Lead the facilitation of discussions surrounding Human Resource strategy, needs, and plans to the Executive Management team and Board of Directors.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

This role might be for you if you have…

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related management field.

10 years of Human Resources Management experience to include: Employee Relations, Compensation & Benefits, Recruiting, HRIS/HRM systems, Compensation structure/analysis, Succession planning.

Ability to drive service delivery and foster organizational change.

Ability to present complex or controversial topics to individuals and groups of all sizes, as well as the ability to influence all levels of management.

Ability to execute plans and drive results.

Knowledge and experience in implementing HRIS/HRM systems, processes, assessments and methodologies.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle a multitude of tasks, and adapt to change.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation and presentation skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.

HRM software system knowledge such as Oracle, Ultimate Software, etc.

Bonus Points:

Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related management field.

Learning & Development experience preferred.

SHRM-MCP, SHRM-SCP, and/or PHR certifications.
