Job Description

The Universal Advocate II is responsible for deepening financial relationships to create exceptional experiences to fully consult and administer new accounts, consumer and home equity loans. This includes assessing needs, identifying solutions and matching value added products to improve the consumer's financial situation through a consultative approach.  The Universal Advocate II demonstrates a thorough understanding of the procedures, policies and regulations that govern Credit Union products and services and fully comprehends the basic principles of loan structuring. 

What you will do here:

Build and strengthen member relationships by exploring and investigating the Financial Profile for each consumer. Accurately assess to determine needs and make recommendations that include but not limited to consumer and business loans, new accounts, and wealth management.

Explain the loan process to borrowers to include full review and evaluation of the creditworthiness of potential borrowers. Follows proper loan interview and documentation procedures and ensures policies are adhered to. 

Promote organizational initiatives by performing activities inbound and outbound member outreach activities to expand existing member relationships.

Effectively communicate and correspond with consumers, internal and external lines of business through a variety of different channels (phone, email, online messaging).

Proactively identify opportunities for self-development while appropriately managing time to meet member commitments and adapt to obstacles without compromising quality. Serves as a subject matter expert for members and level one Universal Advocates.

Know and explain the purpose of various federal regulations. Adhere to account security and member confidentiality and identify possible physical and information security risks to maintain security. 

Perform transactions, this includes, but is not limited to; withdrawals, deposits, check cashing, loan payments and account maintenance.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What you will need:

High School Diploma or GED

2 years of experience in Sales and Service

Cash handling experience preferred. 

Previous financial institution experience preferred. 

Exemplary organizational, problem solving, and verbal and written communication skills 

Excellent time management skills

Strong Mathematical and logic skills

Can demonstrate ability to connect and build rapport quickly                                                

Ability to be registered through the Nationwide Mortgage Lending System and Registry (NMLS)
