Job Description

The Universal Advocate I processes transactions, manages accounts and assists members in identifying products and services that meet their needs. The Universal Advocate acts as a consultant in assisting consumer in uncovering needs and meeting financial goals and determines when it is appropriate to make referrals for members who require assistance in an area beyond that level of expertise - such as mortgage or small business lending. This includes assessing needs, identifying solutions and referring value added products to improve the consumer's financial situation. 

What you will do here:

Provide exceptional experiences with a high level of integrity, professionalism and charisma, while communicating the value of being a Credit Union consumer by offering products and services.

Process consumer inquiries and financial transactions accurately, assist with operational responsibilities, and maintain flexibility between performing service and sales related transactions.

Perform a wide variety of member services including; regular account maintenance, ownership changes, account research, wire requests, IRA transactions, automatic transfer requests, disputes, serve as notary public etc.

Effectively communicate and correspond with consumers, internal, and external lines of business through a variety of different channels (phone, email, online messaging).

Proactively identify opportunities for self-development while appropriately managing time to meet member commitments and adapt to obstacles without compromising quality. 

Promote organizational initiatives by performing member outreach activities to expand existing member relationships.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What you will need:

High School Diploma or GED. 

1 years of experience in a customer service environment. 

Cash handling experience preferred. 

Previous financial institution experience preferred. 

Strong computer literacy, data entry, & typing skills

Strong mathematical and logic skills

Exemplary organizational, problem solving, and communication skills

Highly detail oriented
