Job Description

The Information Security Engineer III is responsible to safeguard the organization's computer networks and systems and to support planning and implementation of the information security strategy. S/he develops a set of security standards and best practices and recommends security enhancements to monitor and protect sensitive data and systems from infiltration and cyber-attacks. The Information Security Engineer III continuously scans the environmental landscape and develops tools and strategies to respond to and recover from security threats and incidents. They are also responsible for developing the analysts and educating the workforce on information security through training and awareness programs.

What you will do here: 

Scan and monitor networks to identify possible vulnerabilities and intrusions and build tools and strategies to resolve possible causes of security threats and report findings/solutions to IT Leadership.

Develop security designs for new software solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities. Work closely with related teams to find creative security solutions that balance business and security needs to improve overall cybersecurity posture.

Coordinate the development of the incident response plans and procedures to ensure that business-critical services are recovered in the event of a security incident

Manage issues / exceptions efficiently and communicate status and resolution action plans to CISO. Manage vendor interactions to achieve measurable results in both operational and project settings.

Administer and manager security tools, configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices.

Partner with the CISO to implement the company’s security strategy. This includes planning, implementation, managing, monitoring and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems and networks.

Contribute to all levels of the application architecture and company’s infrastructure to maintain security. Lead technical implementation efforts in support of security projects while demonstrating the ability to solve complex technical challenges.

Perform on-going security reviews and audits to validate, troubleshoot and improve applications' security. Participate in customer and internal audits and penetration tests. Partner with internal and external auditors as well as federal regulators and department management with information security governance and compliance activity investigations.

Manage security polices and controls for workstations and servers. Maintain, enhance and develop information security documentation. Perform security reviews of projects and articulate security risks and recommendations.

What you will need: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

6 years helpdesk experience working with Active Directory, Windows PC, Windows and Server required.

4 Years’ experience with Anti-Virus Management required.

4 years’ experience with Vulnerability Management required.

2 years’ experience in a System Engineering role required.

Detailed knowledge of security and hacking techniques, standards, security vulnerabilities and remediation required.

Demonstrated expertise designing secure networks, systems, and application architectures required.

Demonstrate knowledge and expertise of risk assessment tools, techniques and methods including development of procedures and incident response plans required.

Demonstrated competency securing technical systems and platforms required.

Demonstrated knowledge of IT systems and data security as it relates to financial institutions required.

Demonstrated effective collaboration across the organization and ability to effectively communicate network security issues to peers and management required.

Security required.

PCIP required.

CISSP required.

CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker preferred.
