Reporting to the AVP of Retail, the Regional Director will be responsible for the overall execution of Desert Financials Retail Sales & Service strategy.  This vital role will oversee multiple retail locations, and responsible for the strategic direction, development and overall achievement for each location based on defined objectives towards member experience, advisory services, sales and overall branch performance.  First point of contact for all issues concerning the branches – member concerns, employee concerns, performance reviews, budget preparation, sales goals and results, manager and employee coaching.  The Regional Director is also responsible for creating an environment that aligns to organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values, and promotes our goal to create a culture of high performing organization.

What you will do here:

Partner with senior retail leadership on the development, and responsible for the execution of retail service, sales, standard operating procedures, budgets, goals and training to drive efficiency, ease of use and exceptional-seamless member experience while driving our commitment of building a culture of performance. 

Analyze regions performance metrics and provide strategic direction to branch leaders in accomplishing defined objectives around member experience, advisory services, sales and overall branch performance. Responsible for the overall execution of key performance metrics for branch locations through effective leadership, well thought out business development plans, and providing guidance to ensure achievement of both financial goals and member growth targets. Lead and direct all daily branch activity (Huddles, Business Development, Bank At Work, Sales Meetings, Training, and consistent usage of the Members Needs Guide and follow up call planning. Coach branch employees to success to ensure referral and branch sales goals are met.

Maintain and enhance Desert Financials member centric model through influential leadership and guidance to branch locations by promoting the click, call and come in organizational strategy. Identify and proactively resolve member problems to ensure member retention and loyalty. Ensure adherence of consistent consultative sales process to include expected sales and service excellence behaviors.  Actively participate in lobby management efforts to improve member experience and gain member feedback.  Use the Branch Observation Guide to provide consistent feedback.

Partner with regional and senior retail leaders to design, deploy and execute a standardized community outreach strategy by region to support brand awareness and member growth targets.  Partner with Business Development in commercial/business development efforts through Bank At Work activities, work directly with assigned Business Relationship Banker, Insurance Representative, Wealth Management and Vendors to acquire new members, build deposit and membership base.  

Actively grow talent and participate in all branch recruitment efforts to include screening resumes, interviewing and selection. Collaborate with HR Business Partner to prepare and administer Corrective Actions and Performance Improvement Plans, to include weekly Performance Improvement Plan follow-up meetings. Actively retain top talent through daily coaching both formally and informally.

Effectively resolve escalated member and employee complaints, concerns and conflicts.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What you will need:

H.S. Diploma required. 

Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or 5 years of related experience and/or training or certification preferred. 

Equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. 

5 Years of experience leading large and/or multiple sales teams within the financial services industry or similar industry required. 

Minimum 5 years of branch management experience in a Banking or Credit Union environment required. 

5 years of financial services sales and customer service experience required. 

Extensive experience with member contact, relationship building, and development/execution of sales and service goals required. 

Strong financial acumen and understanding of how financial markets impact the financial services industry required.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and communication skills with ability to effectively represent the organization in community, civic and professional organizations required.

Strong probing, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills required.

Ability to identify talent and lead, coach, mentor, develop and train multiple leaders required.

Strong background in branch operations to include new accounts, loan origination, transaction processing and Digital/ATMs.   

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Demonstrated ability to develop, recommend and implement new ideas
