The Quality Assurance Analyst I is responsible for helping ensure new products, enhancements and upgrades are released from development to production with the fewest member or employee impacting bugs possible. The QA Analyst I will help with Quality Assurance efforts by completing the tests needed to support the validation of Web Based and/or Mobile Applications and associated interfaces, to make sure they meet design specifications and requirements. They will document, develop and execute manual test cases and, where applicable, execute automation for regression testing leveraging HP ALM or other testing tools. This position will be expected to work closely with the QA team, project managers, business analyst, systems analysts, product managers, product owners and developers to ensure product/solutions are tested thoroughly within established timelines and only the highest quality changes are released.
What you will do here:
Create and maintain a catalog of regression test cases for applications. Identify and log defects, work with development or vendors to resolve, and verify fixes when implemented. Execute automated testing when applicable. Identify and raise risks as early as possible in the software development life cycle.
Work closely with the QA resources and collaborate with developers and/or vendors to determine the testing and methods required for new apps, integrations, processes. Help create and then review and execute the test plans, cases and scripts needed for optimal application or system performance from both a business and technological perspective. Translate business and functional requirements into test cases ensuring they meet the business and system requirements and fulfill end-user requirements. Execute tests for positive and negative testing, cross browser and device testing, as well as functional testing.
Work with QA resources to analyze formal test results in order to report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws and classify them accordingly. Classify and report on the severity of the defect, help find acceptable work arounds, create stories to resolve the defects and help create release documentation including defects that will be included in the release. Report up through the QA team defects, missed requirements, repeat QA findings, test progress, results, and other relevant information to communicate to project stakeholders and management.
Implement new QA standards including tools or process improvements to make the QA process more efficient. Adhere to best practices / standards for maintaining and reporting on issues and the QA practice in the Agile / Sprint process. Participate in the IT Change Control Process, following all document practice and guidelines for new and existing technologies. Gain baseline knowledge of QA best practices. Leverage technologies, resources (staff) and tools for data retrieval needs, stage data and help document the types of data required for testing different scenarios required for different projects. Take responsibility for project deliverables, keep track of schedule and releases. Coordinate with business partners to complete User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production checkout.

What you will need:
Bachelor's Degree; or 2-4 years of experience and/or certifications
Understanding of standard application testing
General understanding of procedures and testing practices
Awareness of test automation tools / software
Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
High level understanding of working with developers in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance methodologies
High level understanding of working in an Agile/SCRUM software development team
Understanding of technical writing and creating technical documentation
