Operations Specialist II
The Operations Specialist II is responsible for completing all assigned check processing to meet daily department deadlines. They will be responsible for maintaining department General Ledgers, following respective regulations to ensure department compliance. The Ops Spec II will have expert knowledge on department functions, and handle escalated cases related to member deposits and other ACH/Wire transactions. They will provide training and mentorship to Ops Spec I on the team, and partner closely with the department Lead.
What you will do here:
Review, process, and settlement check deposits across all channels (Retail/Department, ATM, Mobile, Business Remote Capture, Mail and Foreign/Collection Items). Create and maintain reporting of exceptions, adjustments, chargebacks, holds and member notification letters.
Maintain assigned general ledgers routinely and in a timely manner. Ensure that General Ledgers are completed following respective regulations to maintain department compliance.
Communicate with internal departments, other financial institutions, and processing partners by email, phone and via internal message workflows to support all Payment channel functions.
Research and resolve internal and external escalated issues related, but not limited to, to member deposits, items posted incorrectly, and other transactions.
Assist the onboarding, training, and mentoring of Ops Spec I.
Complete daily check scanning for all internal departments.
What you will need:
High School Diploma or GED Required
3 years experience working in a Financial Institution Req.
2 years experience working Deposit Services Req.
Experiences working under regulated compliance related to check or electronic processing Preferred
Experiences providing support cross-departments and processing partners Preferred
Must possess an aptitude for strong deadline commitments required
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple task assignments simultaneously with above average problem solving skills, with excellent organization skills and process with accuracy. Must be able to maneuver within multiple operations systems required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision with strong decision-making capability required
Strong attention to detail required
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
Capability to effectively share knowledge and effectively train others required
Strong listening skills and demonstrated ability to effectively resolve issues required
