Job Description

The content strategist works to understand business goals and user needs, then develops plans and strategies to deliver clear and relevant content that bring the two together. The Content Strategist will collaborate with all other key marketing functions to create a holistic content strategy and help institutionalize that strategy in those same functions, increasing both member and prospective member engagement and value by providing relevant content.  The content strategist will also be responsible for the optimization of the organizations content, ensuring created content is used across multiple channels to maximize its impact.

What you will do here:          

New Content Strategy: Work with product and marketing teams to understand content needs. Based on business goal and customer needs, develop plans and strategies for new content that will drive member and prospective member engagement, loyalty and sales.

Content Optimization: Examines existing content and develops plans and strategies to optimize based on customer engagement and business results. Finds new opportunities to use existing content in creative ways.

Content Calendar Management: Manages Desert Financial’s editorial calendar to ensure timely and optimal publication of content. 

Content Editing: Edits new content to ensure content is in line with both the strategy for said content and Desert Financial’s overarching content strategy.

Research: Look for new content ideas that match personas, look for latest trends in the industry, and keep up to date with the latest content marketing tactics.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What you will need:

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or Related Field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

3 years of experience with channel content strategy for lead generation, engagement, loyalty, or other marketing activities required.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.

Able to direct writing team to create persona and buying journey centric content required.

Superior verbal, written, and presentation skills required.

Able to manage both client and team needs to produce the best results for both sides required.

Strong Problem Solving skills, with the ability to generate creative content ideas based on customer insights. Creativity in bring new ideas to fruition required.

Exceptional Writing, editing, and proofreading skills required.

Ability to collaborate and work in a cross-functional environment required.

Ability to develop and maintain key business relationships required.

Experience Managing Social Media Platforms and responding to customers or members and managing a social media community preferred.
