Who you are...
The Business Analyst III will work with SwitchThink Solutions clients to collect requirements for Business Intelligence work requests. The BA will ensure completed BI development work meets the business requirements, ensure work is clearly defined, agreed and understood by both the BI team as well as the STS clients. The BA III is critical in ensuring that the BI team and clients have what is required to keep work moving forward, clearly account for changes and decisions as needed and ensure all parties are on point and understand their individual roles and contributions to ensure projects and deliverables are completed successfully and on time.
A typical week might include the following
Working with end users, product owners and clients to evaluate requests to solve business challenges as well as identify additional opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes or expand the service offering using technology. Consulting with management and users to understand requirements and needs for new features / technology and create system specifications that can be used to drive development and implementation / integrations. Identifying modifications needed in existing reports, data integrations or active projects to meet changing user requirements and clearly capture and communicate those changes to technical and non-technical staff/clients. Understanding potential up / downstream impacts to requested changes. Evaluating systems and technology against needs to analyze, design, recommend and facilitate the implementation.
Formulating and communicating the business vision for projects to map out the initial requirements, problems we are trying to solve and the scope of the project or help ensure this is included in the documented requirements. Translating initial high-level request into realistic deliverables. Including required technical details and to remove ambiguity for the BI team including specifying databases, tables, fields and columns to be used, specifying IDs / system values, pulling supporting data, providing queries, etc.
Acting as an escalation point to clarify requirements. Manage and facilitate interactions as needed including for troubleshooting, with vendors, etc. and track / follow-up on committed deliverables. Serving as a liaison and facilitator between all business units, clients and across STS teams to assist in addressing and resolving issues. Ensuring all required information is updated and shared via JIRA as the system of record for all work efforts.
Leveraging Financial Services (or similar regulated field) and Information Technology concepts, best practices, and procedures in coming up with solutions. Developing and implementing information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. Communicating and training on process changes and train new people joining the team on systems and processes so they are setup for success. Coach, mentor and support other analysts, Product Owners, PMs, and team in BI systems, processes and identify areas where improvements are needed.

High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's Degree with a technology-related concentration
5 years of related consecutive hands-on IT project experience
Business analyst / Systems analyst experience
Bonus points if you have...
Financial Industry experience
Experience with PCI, SSAE18 or ITIL
Experience with JIRA or similar Agile/SCRUM Software
Ability to write simple SSRS reports
